CSOs are increasingly turning to IT services and consulting firms for help with a variety of challenges, from managing their day-to-day security operations, to wringing cost out of and articulating the value of their function, to identifying ways in which security can help drive business innovation. Wipro Limited was one such firm that recently briefed HfS Research on its enterprise IT security consulting services and managed security services. HfS came away impressed with Wipro’s overall story in these two areas: at the moment, it appears to be the most formidable offshore IT services player in security. Rare among its competitors in that it has a standalone security practice, Wipro has considerable breadth of offerings, a wide-ranging global geographic footprint, thousands of staff members, and hundreds of clients.
