October 23, 2016

HfS Research Chief Analyst to head up groundbreaking research on IT consulting and strategy, application development, and cloud services, based on the independent references of 300 Global 2000 enterprise clients

Boston, London and Bangalore (25th October 2016) — HfS Research, The Services Research Company™, has announced groundbreaking plans to deliver ongoing IT Services Blueprint reports, rating the performance of professional service providers in the areas of Strategy and Consulting, Application Services, and IT Infrastructure and Cloud Management.

HfS will collate and analyze the innovation and execution performance experiences of 300 Global 2000 enterprise clients currently working with the major IT services providers across key industries that form part of the HfS global community of subscribers. This is a unique approach to assessing independent statistically significant and a wider range of relevant client experiences, unprecedented in the research analyst industry, which still relies largely on client references provided by the service providers themselves.

The initiative, led by HfS Chief Analyst and CEO Phil Fersht, will result in three initial blueprint reports, in conjunction with leading IT services analysts Jamie Snowdon and Dr. Thomas Reuner. Throughout 2017, HfS will also release a series of industry-specific Blueprint Market Guides rating service provider performance in banking, insurance, energy, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing and retail industries.

According to HfS Chief Analyst and CEO, Phil Fersht, who will lead the inaugural 2017 Strategy and Consulting Services Blueprint, “With digital business models and cognitive automation so embedded in the fabric of the modern business IT framework, we have to go back to basics and assess the genuine capabilities of services providers as strategic partners. The services industry is crying out for realistic supplier performance evaluations, based on statistically significant client experiences that complement the views of the reference clients.”
