Dr. Iraj Fooladi

Dr. Iraj Fooladi holds the Douglas C. Mackay Chair in Finance at Dalhousie University. His current research interests include bond portfolio strategies, investor’s behavior under uncertainty, and Socially Responsible Investments. Dr. Fooladi has published in various refereed finance and economics journals, and has received awards for his writings from reputable academic associations such as the Western Economics Association and the Financial Management Association.

He has been the president of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) and the program chair for the organization's 51st annual meeting in May 2008. Currently he is the 1st VP and the 2012 program chair for the Midwest Finance Association. He has also been Program Chair and has served in program committees for other regional, national, and international associations such as the Northern Finance Association, Financial Management Association, and Atlantic Schools of Business.

Dr. Fooladi has been the co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences for the six-year period from January 2000 to December 2005. He has also served as Associate Editor and member of the editorial board for other finance and economics journals, such as the Journal of Applied Finance, Studies in Economics and Finance, and Workplace Review. He is a regular reviewer for many economics and finance journals and serves as project evaluator for federal granting agencies such as NSERC and SSHRC.

Dr. Fooladi’s teaching interests include Managerial and Corporate Finance, Investment, and Portfolio and Money Management. His teaching in the regular and executive programs outside Canada includes countries such as the United States, New Zealand, the Philippines, Jamaica, and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Fooladi has provided consulting to various private companies as well as to government departments.
