Many progressive governance groups are struggling with their ability to accomplish desired strategic objectives with available internal resources. Good talent is hard to come by. A group of Managed Governance Services (MGS) providers are assisting their clients fill the gap in talent, tools, and analysis. Although not widely adopted, the use of MGS providers is growing and will likely become part of most major enterprises. This paper briefly discusses how MGS providers can compliment internal resources and then details criteria that can be used to assess whether pursuing an MGS partner makes sense. If so, the criteria also help identify the required scope of services.
