Is the Services Industry Going Through a Seminal Moment or Just Trimming the Flab?

We have sat down and spent some time reviewing all the different financial results filed by the major India centric service providers over the last several weeks. What we saw was a general sense of uncertainty across the industry stakeholders as to where the service (IT and BPO) industry is headed. We see some service providers stuck in a legacy model for now where scale and size matters and others that see the future in the “As-a-Service Economy” and are willing to take a hit today in their traditional business if it accelerates them towards this new model in the future.
