SpaceX takes market money and buys Cursor

Elon is in your code; ask yourself if this is a good thing or not.

In an effort to quickly gain share in the emerging application development + AI market SpaceX, fresh off its IPO, buys Cursor. For CIOs, what this means is Elon will be learning about how they code, what they code, and applying this to Xai. The risks to companies will go as far as how much they feel they can trust a man who was responsible for the all but failed DOGE effort in Washington. From a research perspective, we see a tremendous need for AI and coding, but from a risk perspective, many CIOs (and CISOs) should look long and hard at the T&C of tools like Cursor. Ask yourself, can what Cursor knows about you and your company be assigned to SpaceX? If you have any concerns, how can you protect the data on your systems and in your development practices? Ask now while you still have time.
