Point of View

European Salesforce services clients should consider Persistent Systems as a credible alternative

Salesforce Platinum partner Persistent Systems continues its carefully targeted acquisition journey around the world. In June 2019, Persistent Systems announced its intention to acquire Youperience for €6.8 million. Youperience expands Persistent Systems’ Salesforce services delivery capabilities and enhances its offerings. Moreover, it strengthens Persistent Systems’ Salesforce Marketing Cloud services capabilities. This POV outlines the main benefits for clients.

Persistent Systems enhances European on-site Salesforce services presence

Clients in Europe, specifically those in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and the UK, should consider Persistent Systems for Salesforce service engagements.

In particular, Persistent Systems and customers would benefit from the following:

  • Local presence in Europe increased by 50+ resources:

What does Youperience bring? Youperience adds approximately 50 Salesforce experts in Germany and approximately 15 in the UK. The Youperience German operation complements and will be integrated with Persistent’s German practice, which is essentially its PARX acquisition of 2017. PARX also has feet-on-the-street in Austria, Switzerland, and France.

What does this mean for Persistent Systems? Youperience strengthens Persistent Systems’ European presence to work onsite with clients. Persistent Systems has 1,200 people in its Salesforce services practice, which includes approximately 50% of resources delivering offshore support in India and the other half providing in-country onsite assistance. It intends to grow the latter category in the next few years.

  • Marketing Cloud expertise and marketing function experience strengthens Persistent Systems offerings:

What does Youperience bring? Youperience’s main strength is in implementing the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. In addition, its consultants can support the entire marketing process for clients, including, for example, marketing content and campaign advice.

What does this mean for Persistent Systems? This acquisition expands Persistent System’s existing Marketing Cloud expertise, as well as its ability to support this process in-country in Europe.

  • Additional industry sector expertise complements Persistent Systems go-to-market strategy:

What does Youperience bring? Youperience has experience with small, medium, and large enterprises across industry sectors. It has a healthy list of clients in the retail, manufacturing, and CPG industry sectors, which complements the PARX capabilities. It also has a diverse client list that includes a newspaper, a football team, and an airline. It supports the entire marketing process, so it is building its business understanding of these industries.

What does this mean for Persistent Systems? Persistent Systems prioritizes industry sector go-to-market strategies, so acquiring skills that have built up industry expertise is an advantage. Persistent Systems US has specific strengths in delivering Salesforce services and solutions to the healthcare industry, something it plans to expand to clients in France in the future.

  • Consulting approach supports Persistent Systems’ aim to strengthen its onsite delivery capability:

What does Youperience bring? Youperience adopts a consultative approach to Salesforce services engagements. Priding itself on having a young team that is well-versed in agile methodologies and focused on client business outcomes, Youperience endeavors to deliver a more business-focused solution to clients.

What does this mean for Persistent Systems? Persistent Systems has a strategy to strengthen its onsite delivery capability in major countries. Importantly, the service provider wants to lead with business conversations with clients rather than focus on the technology. Youperience brings this capability.

The Bottom Line: Local skills add to local delivery skills in Europe

Clients in Europe, specifically those in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and the UK, should consider Persistent Systems for Salesforce services engagements. In the HFS Blueprint Report: Salesforce Services 2017, customers gave Persistent Systems one of the highest average customer satisfaction scores, citing its flexibility and its ability to provide the right resources at the right time as particular strengths. Moreover, watch the service provider’s progress as it strengthens its capabilities in this region, which could involve further acquisitions. So far, its acquisition targets have brought more than just feet-on-the-street delivery strength. Persistent Systems is targeting companies that bring consulting skills with agile delivery experience, industry sector knowledge, and a strong understanding of cloud deployment engagements.
