Since 2014, the industry has experienced many mergers and acquisitions; the call center and customer care industries have been particularly active over this period.
The biggest strategic focus of these organizations has been the transition away from labor-centric models toward automation- and technology-driven models where customers gain an advantage through efficiencies other than labor arbitrage and process management.
We compiled these numbers from public financial statements when they were available. For private companies and public companies that do not publish specific BPO revenues, we estimated our data based on other factors such as their number of employees, contract information, our perception of their relative size, and, for private companies, estimates from financial analysts.
