Security is the one of the key contract areas for digital services with 12% of share in 2018.
Growing security outsourcing contracts: The number of security contracts increased by 27% in the first nine months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017.
Contract values are growing because of the increasing number of contracts: In the first nine months of 2018, TCV and ACV increased by 209% and 191% respectively. Cybersecurity service spending increased because it gets bundled with broader digital and ITO services.
Continental Europe and the US post the largest number of security outsourcing deals: With a similar pattern to 2017, the Continental Europe (73%) posted the largest number of security services deals, followed by the US (2%) in the first three quarters of 2018.
Government entities and banks sign the most security services deals: From 2017 to Q3 of 2018, based on TCV, the largest sector that signed maximum deals is the US government (81%) with $58 billion, followed by continental European countries (10%) with $466 million, and the rest of the world (9%). The BFS sector signed the second-most contracts; continental European countries (35%) with $463 million led the pack, followed by the US (25%) with $100 million.
HCL Technologies takes the lead position in security contracts: In 2018, HCL Technologies (10%) has bagged the first position among other service providers in security contracts, followed by TCS (7%). Booz Allen (7%) occupies the third position and Atos (4%) the fourth position.
