North American Contract Landscape Q4 2017

This report analyses publicly announced ITO and BPO contracts in North America by service types, key verticals, and main vendors. Key findings are:

 

1. The number of ITO contracts is down sequentially in Q4 by 56% and down year-on-year (YoY) by 10%

2. Total contract value (TCV) in ITO decreased 63% sequentially and 29% YoY

3. Multi-IT outsourcing and ADM dominate the North American ITO landscape, with 58% and 22% share of total TCV awarded in Q4 2017, respectively

4. Multi-ITO is the fastest growing service type segment (137% YoY growth), followed by digital transformation (71% YoY growth) and ADM (15% YoY growth) in Q4 2017

5. Media/Publishing and Travel/Transportation/Hospitality sector contracts displayed strong performance in the North American ITO landscape, with 64% and 16% share of total TCV awarded in commercial industries in Q4 2017, respectively

6. Public sector contracts dominate the ITO landscape with 41% share of total TCV awarded in Q4 2017

7. In Q4 2017, public sector TCV declined quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) for the first time since the start of the year.
