Greetings and welcome to HFS Unfiltered. My name is Rohan Kulkarni and I lead the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice here at HFS Research. This morning, I am joined by John Edwards, who is the leader of SoftServe Healthcare Solutions Consulting. Welcome, John.

Hi Rohan, nice to see you again.
Rohan Kulkarni — Executive Research Leader, HFS Research[00:38]
The HFS Horizons Healthcare Provider Service Providers 2024 study focused on the supplier landscape addressing the health systems, hospitals, and healthcare providers globally. We captured inputs from 36 IT and business service suppliers and over 200 healthcare providers. The study evaluated the supplier landscape for its ability to address the triple aim of care, which is to reduce the cost of care, enhance the experience of care, and improve health outcomes. While the study is rich in its content, there were a couple of key insights that stood out. Number one, financial pressures take center stage for health systems and hospitals. The end of the pandemic-driven stimulus has returned healthcare providers to a new reality with even greater pressure to remain above water financially. Given the deteriorating health outcomes in the US and other large population centers around the world, demand for care is increasing, but not the ability to pay for it. Number two, IT and business service suppliers’ capabilities and attitudes have shifted towards the possibilities. Service providers have improved their ability to address complex challenges, both clinical as well as financial, by attracting talent from the industry, investing in key technologies, and becoming bolder in their go-to-market approach. Third, despite progress, opportunities continue to be missed to address the triple aim of care. While many service providers have the capabilities to address all attributes of the triple aim of care and have ample evidence to showcase such results, health systems and hospitals remain entrenched in the legacy paradigm of addressing episodic symptoms rather than holistic health. So John, let me ask you, SoftServe was placed in Horizon 3 for its ability to address all three attributes of the triple aim of care and recognized as a market leader. What are your thoughts about that placement?
John Edwards — Leader, Healthcare Solutions Consulting, SoftServe[02:25]
Well, Rohan, it was exciting to get to talk with you and tell our story, and we appreciated that opportunity to participate in the study, and we were very thrilled to receive that rating from your research. We believe that we’ve leaned in heavily into the provider market over the past 30 years that we’ve been in existence. It’s been a focus area, and it’s nice to see our accomplishments recognized and the opportunity to be able to serve more clients in the future.

Wonderful. Some of the case studies and examples that you shared really resonated with us, and their ability to impact human health outcomes. So, as I think about that, and you looking into the future of the needs of health systems and hospitals both here in the US and globally, how do you see SoftServe playing a part in addressing those needs?
John Edwards — Leader, Healthcare Solutions Consulting, SoftServe[03:18]
That’s a great question, Rohan. We’ve really focused on digital solutions to be a focus area where we go to market. We really believe that our abilities to build composable solutions and do the engineering services along with the consulting services that lead to not only viable products, but solutions that matter to our clients, help us set apart from other consulting firms. We really do focus on the design and build to a SAFe Agile process, and strive to delight our customers by bringing their visions to reality. Personally, I’m thrilled that so many of our clients are talking about AI and GenAI. Providers are sometimes behind the curve in adopting technologies, but we’re seeing an appetite to deal with some of the inefficiencies that exist in healthcare and a lot of belief that AI can support that. It’s exciting to be in those conversations and to see people trying to move the needle and create better care and more efficient care, and specifically trying to deal with some of the burnout that happens to physicians and nurses because of the inefficient systems they use today. So, we’re excited as SoftServe to be a part of that.

Awesome, awesome, and I’m bullish about that as well. I wish you and SoftServe the very best. I thank you for your time this morning.
