FORA Leadership Insights: The Chip Shop Taking Over Cambridge

Steve Dunkerley, Head of FORA Leadership Council and Events, caught up with one of the July 2018 speakers, Tim Pullen, Chief Financial Officer of Arm Limited, to talk about how the company and its Future Finance programme are expanding exponentially amidst a mushrooming demand for microchips in business sectors ranging from the internet of things to the automotive industry.

 

Tim Pullen joined a year ago and as the former Finance Director for Operations and Digital Transformation at O2, a leader in the mobile phone industry, the transition to Arm was a marked change. For one, Arm’s product lifecycle is lengthy—typically around five years from concept to revenue—and its growth strategy is long-term, in line with Masa’s 2035 trillion chip vision, but such time horizons don’t mean it’s a sluggish operation, according to Pullen.
