Karen Paterson is a pioneer in the global payroll services market having founded the payroll service firm bearing her name, Patersons Global Payroll in 1996. Her vision was to build a truly international payroll service company. Over the course of the next decade and a half the company expanded to provide payroll in 160 countries. But after selling a stake in the business, Paterson left her namesake company in early 2010.
Now Paterson has started a new company, Acrede, with the similar vision of being a leading international payroll service business. The company is built around a new technology platform designed to change the way companies consume international payroll and HR services. She has assembled an experienced management team, which includes her former technology officer at Patersons. With a kick-off just after Christmas 2010, the company is off to a fast start.
