The HFS Horizons: Azure Ecosystem Services Providers, 2024 report is for enterprise cloud, data, and technology leaders identifying the service providers best positioned to help them turn Microsoft Azure investments into measurable business value.

Overview

The HFS Horizons: Azure Ecosystem Services Providers, 2024 report is HFS Research’s assessment of 20 service providers that help enterprises realize value from Microsoft Azure, rating each across the Azure value chain on four dimensions: why, what, how, and so what. It evaluates how well providers move clients beyond cloud migration toward innovation, sector-specific solutions, and business outcomes in the Generative Enterprise era. HFS positions each provider using its OneEcosystem lens, which measures the ability to create new sources of value through collaboration across organizations.

HFS Horizons for Azure ecosystem service providers, 2024, an HFS Horizons placement chart with three stacked horizontal bands representing Horizon 3 at the top, Horizon 2 in the middle, and Horizon 1 at the bottom. The left vertical axis reads innovation scope, rising from functional at Horizon 1 to enterprise at Horizon 2 to network at Horizon 3. The right vertical axis reads value aspiration, rising from digital at Horizon 1 to experience at Horizon 2 to synergy at Horizon 3. The top band, Horizon 3 Market Leaders, contains Avanade, Cognizant, Deloitte, EY, HCLTech, IBM, Infosys, and TCS. The middle band, Horizon 2 Enterprise Innovators, contains Brillio, Capgemini, KPMG, PwC, and Wipro. The bottom band, Horizon 1 Disruptors, contains Coforge, Encora, Mphasis, NTT DATA, Sonata Software, UST, and Virtusa. Key findings
  1. Horizon 3 Market Leaders include Avanade, Cognizant, Deloitte, EY, HCLTech, IBM, Infosys, and TCS. Horizon 2 Enterprise Innovators include Brillio, Capgemini, KPMG, PwC, and Wipro. Horizon 1 Disruptors include Coforge, Encora, Mphasis, NTT DATA, Sonata Software, UST, and Virtusa.
  2. HFS evaluated 20 Azure service providers, classifying 8 as Horizon 3 leaders, 5 as Horizon 2 innovators, and 7 as Horizon 1 disruptors.
  3. Participation required annual Azure service revenue of at least $100 million or a portfolio of services spanning the Azure value chain.
  4. Clients rated providers highest on quality of service delivery at 8.7 out of 10 and lowest on AI capabilities at 6.0, with business outcomes averaging 8.4.
  5. HFS conducted reference checks with 14 active clients and 12 active partners and drew on roughly 600 service provider ratings from its HFS Pulse demand-side survey.

HFS finds that Azure is shifting from an infrastructure story to a driver of broader business transformation, with success hinging on closing the gap between business goals and IT execution. HFS assesses that providers differentiate through proprietary IP, sector-specific offerings, and the move from generative AI proofs of concept to production, though clients and partners agree that AI capabilities and financial impact remain the largest areas for improvement.
