The HFS Horizons: Sourcing and Procurement Services, 2025 report is for CPOs, procurement leaders, and shared services heads evaluating S2P service providers scaling agentic AI.

Overview

HFS Horizons: Intelligent Supply Chain Services, 2025 is a vendor evaluation that assesses 20 service providers, 19 distinctly analyzed, across three horizons of supply chain maturity, concluding that interoperability, resilience, and adaptability now separate market leaders from the field. The HFS three-horizon framework ranks providers from Horizon 1 disruptors that digitally optimize discrete functions, through Horizon 2 enterprise innovators that orchestrate cross-enterprise integration, to Horizon 3 market leaders that build intelligent, interoperable, and purpose-led supply networks, attributed to HFS Research.

Three-tier HFS Horizons placement chart positioning supply chain service providers by innovation scope on the vertical axis, rising from outcomes to circular and cross-organizational to autonomous supply network, and by value aspiration, rising from functional transformation to business transformation to ecosystem transformation. The top tier, Horizon 3 Market Leaders, contains seven providers: Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, EY, Genpact, Infosys, and TCS. The middle tier, Horizon 2 Enterprise Innovators, contains seven providers: Bristlecone, Deloitte, HCLTech, IBM, KPMG, Mindsprint, and Tech Mahindra. The bottom tier, Horizon 1 Disruptors, contains six providers: Fractal, GEP, ITC Infotech, PwC, Virtusa, and Wipro. Source: HFS Research, 2025.

Key findings
  1. Seven providers reached Horizon 3 market leader status: Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, EY, Genpact, Infosys, and TCS.
  2. Over 90% of enterprises engage providers for real-time planning, cited by 91% of clients and 96% of technology partners, the most active value chain area ahead of supplier collaboration and automated procurement.
  3. Analytics at 31% and cloud at 26% absorb roughly 57% of enterprise technology spending, while GenAI at 12% and agentic AI at 7% now surpass traditional AI at 2% among client references.
  4. SAP and Microsoft lead enterprise technology choices with 86% and 71% of votes, while Infosys (50%), Accenture (38%), Cognizant (19%), and TCS (19%) rank as clients’ top supply chain service providers.
  5. Accenture and Microsoft delivered US$100 million in savings via AI-powered control towers and digital twins, Capgemini generated €1.7 billion in value over 2.5 years for a global CPG firm, and IBM achieved more than US$2 billion in run-rate savings in 18 months.

HFS assesses that the supply chain services market is consolidating, with enterprises unifying functions under single accountability to fund larger end-to-end transformation and move AI from pilot to production. HFS finds that clients praise providers for thought leadership, domain expertise, and execution, yet consistently demand clearer engagement roadmaps, transparent value-based pricing, and faster responsiveness. HFS assesses that the winners will be those who move agentic AI from demonstrations into embedded daily decision support across interoperable supply networks.

The Bottom Line

The supply chain leaders of 2025 are no longer the providers that automate discrete functions but those that turn agentic AI, digital twins, and interoperable platforms into resilient, self-correcting networks. Enterprises must thus choose partners proven to embed that intelligence into daily decisioning across sourcing, planning, logistics, and returns.
