The HFS Horizons: Supply Chain Services, 2024 report is for supply chain leaders, procurement executives, and sourcing decision-makers evaluating service providers for digital, resilient, and sustainable supply chain transformation.

Overview

HFS Horizons: Supply Chain Services, 2024 assesses 18 service providers on their ability to help enterprise clients realize value across the end-to-end supply chain, from planning and sourcing to inventory, logistics, and aftermarket services, classifying each into Horizon 1 Disruptors, Horizon 2 Enterprise Innovators, or Horizon 3 Market Leaders based on innovation scope and value aspiration. The assessment draws on vendor briefings, reference checks with 29 active clients and 34 active partners, and HFS Pulse survey data covering 15 service provider ratings.

Three-tier horizontal placement chart plotting 18 supply chain service providers across the HFS Horizons framework, with innovation scope (outcomes, circular and cross-organizational, autonomous supply network) on the vertical axis and value aspiration (functional transformation, business transformation, ecosystem transformation) on the horizontal axis. Horizon 3, Market Leaders, autonomous supply network, ecosystem transformation, contains seven providers listed alphabetically: Accenture, Capgemini, EY, Genpact, IBM, TCS, and Tech Mahindra. Horizon 2, Enterprise Innovators, circular and cross-organizational, business transformation, contains seven providers listed alphabetically: Cognizant, Deloitte, GEP, HCLTech, Infosys, KPMG, and PwC. Horizon 1, Disruptors, outcomes, functional transformation, contains four providers listed alphabetically: Bristlecone, Neo Tangent, Wipro, and WNS. Source: HFS Research, 2024.

Key findings
  1. The seven Horizon 3 Market Leaders, in alphabetical order, are Accenture, Capgemini, EY, Genpact, IBM, TCS, and Tech Mahindra, distinguished by networked, autonomous supply chain visions delivered at scale.
  2. Genpact’s outcome-driven, as-a-service supply chain model has driven 45% revenue growth, and the company expanded its supply chain centers of excellence in Katowice, Poland, and Chennai, India, in 2022.
  3. Supply chain planning is the top engagement scope item among 29 client references at 67%, followed by inventory management at 63% and sourcing and procurement at 48%, while sustainability trails at 11%.
  4. Client references plan to cut Horizon 1 functional transformation investment from 80% currently to 52% in the future, while raising Horizon 3 ecosystem transformation investment from 56% to 68%.
  5. Clients rated providers 8.7 out of 10 on the ability to scale or descale operations but only 8.1 out of 10 on end-to-end supply chain coverage, the lowest-rated capability in the study.

HFS assesses that enterprises are shifting from linear, human-dependent supply chains toward low-touch, collaborative supply networks built on generative AI, IoT, and advanced analytics, even as most engagements remain priced on a traditional time-and-materials basis. HFS finds that Horizon 3 leaders differentiate through networked, autonomous supply chain visions delivered at scale, backed by robust partner ecosystems and proprietary IP.
