Accenture earned a $564 million, 5-year contract to support HealthCare.gov by stepping into a consumer-frustrated, politically-charged situation with a singular focus on “simplifying and streamlining the customer experience,” to quote Matt Tait, managing director for Accenture Federal Services on this work.1 Accenture Federal Services brought in the ability to scale and tap into healthcare and technology expertise to elevate the site back to what it promised in the early days. That promise is the ability for a fairly easy and straightforward enrollment or re-enrollment process in a very complex U.S. healthcare system.
