The fact that the market continues on a downward trajectory, in spite of growing interest in digital transformation and the shift to As-a-Service IT and business services paradigms, shows how much has been sunk into legacy operational services. With one conclusion being that the legacy ship is much larger and is going to take longer to turn. So, unpicking this Gordian knot is going to take longer than predicted and we have yet to see the bottoming out of the traditional services providers. In short, there is a lot of runway in the legacy model, it just isn’t growing at anything like the double-digit rates of yesterday.
This point of view considers if there is anything important in the first flurry of financial results from the quarter.
